CARING – KEY CARE SYSTEM
All your basic needs will be carried out by the Care Staff: if necessary they will help you wash and dress in the mornings and get undressed in the evenings.
Any clothing repair may be given to a carer who will repair it on your behalf. Your clothing should be marked using Name Tapes to ensure your own clothes do not go astray, you can ask a member of staff to assist with this.
Newspaper are available and can be ordered on your behalf and delivered everyday. Residents are responsible for payment, which is collected weekly.
Mail is delivered each day from Monday to Friday and handed out during the morning. If you have a letter to post please hand it to reception. Stamps are available for sale.
There is a public phone on which you can either ring out or receive calls.
If you require a phone to be connected in your room, please speak to the Home Manager who will make the arrangements for you with British Telecom. Accounts for personal telephones will be your responsibility.
Hairdressing is available on Wednesdays and there is also a local salon if you prefer.
Our Private Chiropodist visits every six weeks or three monthly depending on need, for a small charge or if you are registered with the local podiatric clinic, home visits are available.
Southport Rest Home does not have a courtesy car. Normal hospital appointments can be arranged through the Ambulance Service. We also have an account with a local taxi firm. You will be invoiced by the home for this service. Due to staffing constraints we will continue to charge for escort duties for hospital visits or private shopping etc.
Our "Home" environment, and the care given to our Residents is our priority, and we couldn't do this without the support of our staff and volunteers.
Our Volunteers can offer numerous additional support functions to our Residents including buddy services, friendship, assistance with personal paperwork, escort assistance for shopping trips and other numerous social activities to ensure our
Residents have access to everything they would usually have in their own homes.
If you would like to become a volunteer at our "Home" or to help with any other activities, please use our Contact Us Form to send us your details.
